Hike Day Again

Another great morning for a hike. Back to Usury Mountain and did a different trail. It was fun. I like my new pack, except I am a pansy with how the water tastes when I have to suck it out! It's just gross. I am very picky about how I drink my water. I don't even like to drink it out of a plastic cup. But I do like water bottles. I know go figure. So the water just tastes nasty and I don't drink as much. I hope with continue use it will get better.  

We missed having Sandra this morning. She was doing a phone interview. So it was just Cheryl and I. The view at the top was just beautiful. We heard some coyotes yipping along as we hiked. So cool to hear that. 

Riparian Hike

 I thought I would share this oh so lovely picture of me after the big dust storm we had on Saturday! I look like a mess and felt like a mess! The jeep needs to be cleaned out as well!

 OK I feel like like a kid when they get their first back pack for school! I got this so that I can do the hikes we have been doing and not having a bigger back pack to lug around and having to freeze water bottles. This is much easier. So I was able to use it for the first time today. Cheryl, Sandra and I went to the Riparian off of Greenfield and Guadalupe. Its a place where you can walk around and see the many different birds around a lake. Its really a neat place that you would never know that its there. Early morning is a great time to go. And that's what we did. 6am we went and it was a little cloudy and humid but fun! We saw so many little bunnies. 

 So Sandra took us off to the canal to visit this cute little farm place! We got greeted with some new friends. This is such a nice place to visit that the owner have put out a feeding stand for people to feed the goats and what ever comes up for a visit. 

 That pig is so darn cute!

 This was so cute to see the Mama with her little babies swiming in the little water that was there. 

 Well hello there Miss Pam!! He is not afraid to come and say Hi!

This is the great view we had to look at this morning. Since we have had so many storms come through this past week its just so fun to see the beauty that comes after the storms. Weather it's in the early morning or later in the evening. I guess this makes up for the 100 + weather we get here in the summer that just wears on you after a awhile. 

One Crazy Haboob Storm

Dave and I missed last years Haboob that rolled in. We were out of town. But we were here for this one. We were in the jeep doing some errands and was at Sportsman's Warehouse and when we came out our eyes just got really big! 

 WOW is all I kept saying! And it was rolling in fast! I was nervous because we were in the jeep. No protection from the wind or rain that usually follows this stuff! 

 I was glad I had my camera with me. It was so weird to watch it moving in on us! 

 Nasty dirt every where!! I was really nervous when we went through it. And the winds were strong to. 

We got home before the rain hit. But we were so dirty it was not funny! I sat on a chair in the house and got up and just a ton of dirt dust was left on the chair. My ears were full of dirt. Even after I had showered the dirt was still there. I am glad it rained to settle down the dust a bit. The jeep is really dirty in the inside of it! Now I can say I have been through a Haboob and survived!! 

Great Morning Hike

Great way to wake up on your Monday morning and go for a hike. I have never gone to Usury Pass and gone hiking before. The Desert really is not my favorite pass time, but I will have to admit it is peaceful early in the morning and beautiful after the monsoon storms we just recently had. 

I was awake at 4:15 but my alarm was to go off at 4:45. I just rested till 4:40 and just turned off the alarm 

Got to Cheryl's house at 5:30 and and then we headed out!

Not Smart!

Sometimes even though you think your ALL grown up...But then you realize your NOT!

This little boy is lucky! Lucky that he don't have a head injury or broken bones...!!!

This is what happens to you when you long board! Skate boarding on a much longer one. Cam took care of a lot of patients long boarding. That's when he worked in the Shock Trauma before he went to school in California. 

I told Jaren that this would have not happened if he would have came for Family Home Evening and wrote a letter to his cousin.  I'm a mom just had to tell him that... I think its funny! I don't think he will be doing anything really more stupid in the next 6 weeks because its hunting time for him. Right now he can't pull his bow back.

Day 2 Of The Rain....

We Arizonan's get soo crazy when it rains! Well when it rains TWO days in a row! It has been so wonderful to have the rain. We so need the moisture. We were suppose to put our names in for watering next week. Well we don't have to know.  And it's been nice to have the temperature come down to.  

 These first two pictures were taken with my phone. It had already been raining and then these clouds came through. Wow then  the wind came behind those clouds and much much more rain. 

 Our rain gutters really had a hard time keeping up with the rain. Birds keep putting up nests in them and then this is what you get out the side instead the drain down. But then really there was so much rain I really don't thing it mattered it was going to over flow as it was. 

 And then when it's all done here comes the sun..... I had to go deliver some food to a lady I visit teach and the roads where over flowed with water. I had one of my Young Women girls who I used teach put pictures on facebook with them playing in a park next to their house and they had a canoe in it! That's some rain fall. 

Well I hope we continue to have our Monsoon weather all summer! Bring it on! 

Bring The Rain....

In the summer months in Arizona we so welcome RAIN!!

And even better when you can wake up in the morning time with clouds in the sky! 

We just get sooo excited about rain. Its all over the news. But its great to take a break from the heat and enjoy the clouds and what rain comes our way. 

 You can see the tip top of the Temple there. Right now the trees are big so you can't see a lot of it, but its beautiful 

Love to see those puffy big clouds...hopefully more rain will come again this weekend. It keeps the heat down from 113!
