Memorial Day Weekend Camping

This was a fun weekend. We went camping to Woods Canyon Lake. We did not camp in the campground. We camped where the boys do all their hunting by there. I got my fishing licence! 50 bucks it cost me. The guy gave a a combination licence. Really?? Why?? So now I can hang with the boys and do some coyote hunting, some lion hunting....my options are open! But Dave and I had our fun fishing. Ok they are not big they just stalked the lake but its always fun to catch fish. My mama taught me how to fish!

Can you believe this little guy! 5 months old already. He had so much fun camping. As much as he can..... He did well. Jory and Brittney bought a new camping trailer this past month. So its nice to have a warm place to sleep for him anyways. They have a nice trailer it has a slide out which gives more room.

We some times have to spit up! Sorry this is soo funny that I actually caught it on the camera
Breken is finally warming up to Easton.. little by little

The wind was really horrible for camping. They were so strong that it was just not fun to be outside. But hey when your two who really cares. This little boy loves and I mean loves camping! He loved the dirt, sticks, rocks...

Ok This little one was just watching me sooo carefully while I was eating a cookie. He was just making me laugh so hard.
He say's Really your not going to share???
Fishing with a two year old is very challenging. But Papa is really patient.

This was so neat to see. I was really close to them. They were all does

And we did see some elk
Mimi and Papa read a bed time story to Breken and Easton

It was a fun holiday camping trip. Its feels so good to be in the open air and smell the pine trees and see wild life. Jaren put out cameras in some of his hunting spots to see how much activity the elk and deer are coming in. They were drawn for elk in September.

Texas Visit

All I can say May has been a busy month for Dave and I. We have just been gone! Vacation, business... We flew into Houston then drove to Galveston for a Itsa meeting, International Thermal Spray Association. David happens to be the President for two years. You wonder how he has time for that and all the other stuff that he does?? Well we wonder to!! But for me I get to see places that I would never get to see. Last year it was in South Carolina. That was fun. And I have never been to Texas either. We went to a place called Moody Gardens Resort. So neat and fun. A lot of fun things to do there. A water park, The Aquarium, Imax, The Rain forest, Lone Star Flight Museum. We only got in the Aquarium. Not enough time for the other stuff. So Dave had his meetings and I was busy with other stuff as well. Fun trip all in all even if it was business. I really enjoy this organization they think of family. Cause family sometime travels in as well as wives.

Here is the day that is set for the wives to do something. Usually they have a golf game for the men or who ever wants to play and the wives have something else planned. Well Dave this year decided to go with me and not golf..can you believe that!!! So we were down in the historical part of Galveston I believe. So we did some shopping. Not a lot of shops where open because it was on a Sunday. Which usually they don't have things planned on a Sunday. It is usually on Saturday. We had fun

This is where Dave and I ate at a place and had Gumbo soup. I was raised on Chicken Gumbo soup from my mother. But it was different then what she made for me. I had chicken and sausage, David had a sea food type of Gumbo. It was yummy.
We went out on a dinner boat in the evening time. Beautiful weather. Not hot at all.

This is a shot from the bay we were in and we could see Moody Gardens
These are some summer homes I suppose along the bay we were in. Gorgeous homes!!

OK so we were sooo fortunate to be able to see the solar eclipse while we were out in the bay on our dinner cruise. Some one in our group had mentioned that we would not be able to see it. So while we were eating half way through a bunch of people got up and was going outside and up stairs. I asked as to what was going on and they said to see the eclipse. I got my camera and headed out as well!! Dave did not follow. Oh man I was just in awe!! So beautiful. I just had my little camera and I thought that I got some great shots of the eclipse. I finally went and got David to come and see it. He was in awe as I was.

I just had a blast in Galveston and on the dinner boat and to see the eclipse. We then headed to Houston for a conference that David had to speak at on Monday. So he made his rounds with it on Tuesday visiting all the different booths. I believe it was a Thermal Spray Conference. Did not get to see much of Houston but may be another time.
