Colorado Trip and Warrior Dash Mud Run

This was the funniest trip we have done in a long time! A Road trip to Colorado to do a Warrior Dash Run. What we did is drove our truck with the boat in tow to Lake Powell and spent the night there and left the boat cause we were going to come back to Powell and spend our anniversary there. So off to Pitkin Colorado to meet up with our friends Cheryl and Laci and Sandra and Darren. Sandra and Darren are the ones with the cabin that we were headed to. It was such a beautiful drive. Just so amazed at how green every thing was.

Here is this beautiful deer along the side of the road. We had to turn around and look at her. She was just standing there eating and looking back at us!

This was at the intersection in Colorado heading toward Telluride. Just beautiful!!

This was so much fun. Dave and I was able to get in the canoe and take a ride around on this little pond and feed the fish. It was sooo cool to see the fish follow and jump and feed

Just a beautiful morning in Pitkin Colorado

Here is the gang getting ready to head out to the warrior dash run.

Here is the general store in Pitkin

The little church in Pitkin

The fire station

Pitkin was founded in 1880

Now this was a town just from Pitkin called Ohio

Here is the Ohio general store

This was so neat. It was the refrigerator they had in the store

I just fell in love with these little town. Just a lot of history. Can you imagine living back in the 1800's??

This was so funny Sandra is gettin herself ready with her vitamins for the race. She will be able to run faster you know...

We spent some time on our outfits!! It was fun making them. Don't we look cute??!!

We did not do a lot of running!!!! Well at least me. The altitude was higher then what I am used to so it took a lot of energy to run

Ha this was the best part of the obstacles we had. What fun it is to jump in a big pool of water with MUD!! Well Cheryl got the kid in her come out!!!

Now Sandra had no problem swimming in the mud!! Me well the prissy girly part comes out!!!

It was fun crawling in the mud. I did a real good job of holding up my head while I went under the wire as to not get it in my face LOL

Look at our cute little tutu's got mud on them

It was amazing how heavy the mud is. We eventually ditched the tutu's cause it was not worth it to try and carry it with us the rest of the way. It was a thick heavy mud!

~Run Cheryl Run~

Here Sandra I are finally coming. Look how good my feather looks around my neck...LOL

This was a fun obstacle to do. There was 20 yr old girls who could climb up this wall.! Pfft it was easy for us 50 yr old lady's! Well Sandra is still in her good old 40's but this requires a lot of upper strength to pull your self up and we did good!

~Up and Over~

Here we all are, Sandra Cheryl, Katie, Pam It was a blast to do this run. We were all nervous well me more then anything cause I have never done a run like this with the obstacles but it was great fun. And doing it with these ladies was a treat. Its so fun to just laugh and play along the way and enjoy the ride .....

I know with all the mud on my skin it has to do some wonderful things for it!

You gotta love our hats we got. And this was after we got to shower off some of that mud. They had like about 50 showers to use out side and all the women and men are trying to shower off the mud. I did have to throw away my shoes not worth it to keep them.

Here is some other obstacles they we did that Dave was not able to get our pictures doing it

Here is the clean version of us!! All said and done great trip with these guys. We had so much fun drivng and site seeing on the way there and on the way home to. We did seperate our travels along the way cause we headed back to Lake Powell to celebrate our 31st Anniversary. I love Colorado and want to do more site seeing again.. maybe again next yr we can do this run again.

Sunday's

We had the kids over for family dinner on Sunday. It had been a few weeks of being together and it was fun to have the kids around and play. After dinner David lay ed down to rest, and so I put Will (Dave Hatches boy) on the floor and Breken just sat down and was playing. So cute. Dave was a sleep for a while. I laughed who was watching who???

This little boy is not shy with the camera anymore, when you put the camera up to take a picture he will try and pose with a squint in the eye!!

Breken Loves his Uncle Jory and Auntie Britt!!! Loves them!!! So Jory took some time out to give him a ride with lots of laughs!

Its fun to rest and play on Sunday's!!
