The Light Rail & City Bus!

We had some friends from the ward invite us to go to Phoenix and eat pizza at a place called Pizzeria Bianco. Its not a very big place and you have to go really early because you can have up to a 3 or 4 hour wait to get in! It's good pizza! So the plan was to meet at the Light Rail that just got finished and started to run the first of January. But Dave and a couple of the men in the group we are suppose to go out with, (Clint and Jared) went on a bird hunt in the morning time. It's quail season right now. But they were suppose to be back at noon. Why did I just laugh at my self and think those boys won't make it. Well a mama knows boys and hunting!! They got home at 1:45 pm. Well we missed meeting up with everyone at 2:30, but managed to head out like at 4pm. Yes at little later. But Dave said lets ride the city bus to the light rail.......hmmmm I have never rode the city bus before. My kids have but not me.....!! So the bus was late...whats new, took like 20 minutes to get to the light rail, which if we drove there it would have been like hmmm 10 minutes I'm sure. But its all about he adventure. Met some really nice people on the bus. Now the light rail. So for all those that have no idea about the light rail, like we did, when you purchase a bus pass its good for the light rail as well. But we didn't know that so we purchased a light rail pass in addition to the bus pass, but then we missed the train. SOOO more waiting.

So now we are just waiting to get on the light rail. I was really excited to do this. So now I have been on the city bus for the first time and the light rail for the first time. So after waiting another 15 minutes we get on.

Here is Dave with the passengers around us. It got really full. Now this pic does not show how full it was because we had like 3 more stops to pick up people

I was very fortunate that I got a seat to sit down. I'm a little nervous of how many they let jam pack the train. It was worse later after I took this pic of Jory. And they did not check to see if we had a ticket either. But we had some one tell us that if and when they ever do decide to do a random check and you don't have a ticket, the fine is like $180.00 ticket. So just buy one and be honest!! And on the light rail we met some nice people as well. How can you not make friends with them when they are just a nose away or as Jory so innocently found out, a boobie brushing away.

Ah so now we are off! And along our walk this is what I found. This nice statue! This makes good conversational piece with people if your bored walking.

WE made it to Pizzeria Bianco. Our friends which they are Marc in the yellow shirt, Carrianne and baby Kate, Rusty which is Carrianne's husband Dave talking, and Clint, and the head of Jaylee.

The other side of the table, now I have Jaylee's head just right, Jared & Diane. You can tell they belong to each other. And little Micah and his mommy and daddy Jill and Marc. Sorry Marc I got you with your eyes closed. We did not get to eat with them. It took so long to get there like an hour and a half so they had already ordered their pizza. They were really sad as to not have us join in.....LOL But Dave and I and Jory decided to go over to the Arizona Center and eat at a place called Mi Amigo's. A Mexican restaurant.

But hey we found some other friends to visit with. Well OK they are Jory's friends, Jake and Mekell Bell and his twin brother if you can't tell Josh and he was on a date with Jenni sitting next to Jory. They were just killing time before they went to the Monster Truck show.

We walked around the center and got some cold stone cream ice cream and just had fun and then headed back to the light rail and headed home. It was fun. We want to do this again. The weather right now is just so nice you need to take every advantage of it!! SO I hope every one is up to another trip on the light rail!!

Girl and her Pedicures

Ok I'm a girl who just loves girlie stuff!! especially getting my toe's done!! It's been in the last year that I really have fun with it. I have been going with a couple of girls that are Jory's friends but are so kind to let me.....hang with them and get our Ped's done!! There is a place off of Kyrene and Warner that we go to. They do a fantastic job in painting your toes. It gets little over whelming as to what to pick and have your toes look like. For Christmas I had red polish with white snow flakes. It was cool!!

This color I chose is a bit different that what I normally pic. I like pink, pink, flowers, ah I love the white tips as well. But I love this color. Lime green! It's not me. That's what I wanted this time to be out of my ordinary look.

AHHHH this is my Lake Powell toes! They are much tanner!! Its just fun to sit and have the vibrating massage on your back, have your toes scrubbed till they tickle, and walk out a little taller cause your toes look sooo cute and you can't wait to show your husband or who ever will just look at your toes and say ahhh that was fun!

Jaren Phil

Today is Jaren's P-day. And the day we get an email from him. As a mom you sit and wait for that letter to come in. Well the last few weeks have not been constant with how they usually come in on Mondays. He usually writes in about like 5 am because he is 5 hours ahead of us. So last week it never came till Tuesday because he had an activity of some sort. And I just decided that today we were not going to get one as well. Maybe tomorrow...Well he just wrote in his letter. I was just like hey what its like 10 pm over there. What is he doing out that late!! There is a reason why. Transfers don't happen till the first of Feb, but this transfer was different. He is in Rosario. His mission home. He is serving with the Mission Pres as his secretary. WOW! So I guess he is safe to write a letter that late in the night. He is a humble young man. Loves his mission. But I want to share what he wrote about his feelings. It's a poem of some sort.

I learned something today, its called change
I'm still me and your still you
And believe me I'm just as scared too
With a sunny day ending behind us and a storm just ahead
We've got two hours to closure up the rest
So don't let a minute go by, not even a second tic by
Embrace the trials and you will be fine
If you want something go get it, just say I can and the rest will follow through
And just because you feel inadequate doesn't mean you can't handle it
The choice is yours to take, to be who you are and to undertake
This life is learning and each day a test
So get to getting and never give less than your best

So change is in store for Jaren. A good change that will make him stretch a bit. Sometimes we all need that in our lives weather we like it or not. I don't do well with change. But if I was in a place like Jaren you just do it!! He is so spiritually in tuned. I'm not on a high as him, but I should try harder and be there. But he inspires me to be.

Javelina Hunt

I was hoping that Dave was going to do this post cause he was the one that went Javelina hunting. But Jaren wants to see some pic's of the trip. I can report that they did not even see a Javelina at all. Dave's dad and Uncle Carlos came for this hunt. They went last yr and Dave did get one. It was a really rainy week last year when they went. But it did rain on Sunday when they were coming home. I really believe that this trip was for little boys to play in the mud with their quads and have fun!!

Here is Dave's Dad & Uncle Carlos

This is camp that they set up.

This is the same mud hole from last yr. And they had fun last yr in it as well.

Dave coming through

Here is Jory

This is Dave's Uncle Carlos

That's one big mud hole for them boys to play in!!

Even though they did not get one or see one for that fact I'm glad they can go out and have fun in the mud!!

He's Baaack!!

Mr. Jory took an adventure and moved out in October and went to St. George Utah! None of us really know the reason for his departure, but his Dad and Mom said go and see what St. George will offer you!

Well it offered him endless hunting trip's with his mission buddy Witt (Jace). They went deer hunting, coyote hunting. Oh and then he would go and repo cars with Witt as well. Travel all around the reservation in Page Az, Colorado Az, and all around St. George. Picked up some really nice cars and trucks people can't afford anymore.

Did manage to get a job at Village Inn AND Texas Road House as a waiter! I don't think he became rich at those jobs, but it earned him enough money to head home for the Christmas Holidays!

He did some soul searching while he was on a Javelinas hunt with his dad. Had a meaningful talk with his old boss ( his dad!) And decided to come back home!! And he started back at his old job but learning new stuff like flame spray.

We are sooo sooo glad to have this handsome young man back in the house. Of course there are some requirements that he has to meet. But he feels he can handle them. He is just so glad to have a bed back to sleep on. I guess a air mattress gets a little old and hurts your back and he might seek some chiropractic assistance to relieve some of those aches and pains he has acquired. His first day back was on Tuesday and he survived the whole day of work. It's been sometime since he has experienced a whole day of work. But he is expected to finish the rest of the week out with flying colors.
