More Pic's Of Elk Hunt 2012

I forgot about these pictures I wanted to share with the rest of the elk hunting trip.

Taking down camp. Brittney already drove down our camping trailer the day before. She had a doctors apt for Easton so with  our truck she drove down our trailer. Cam and Janica drove it up earlier  We did a lot of shuffling vehicles around for this trip!!!

This is just on top of the rim at Woods Canyon Lake....Saying goodbye what a great camping and elk trip we had!

Continued Elk Hunt 2012!!

It's a wrap on the elk hunt as Brittney put it!! It ended well with both boys getting their elk! So happy for the both of them. Jaren got his first. He was with a friend named Zac. Jory and his Dad were back home having to work....Jaren shot his elk really deep down in a ravine and you could not take a quad in to haul it out. So they had to quarter it and haul it out. He had to leave a lot of meat behind. Of course the head came out. Jaren carried it out!!
Jory got to go back up and he shot his elk the day before the hunt ended!! Glad he finally got it. He actually shot at two and wounded them trailed the blood but never came up with an elk. Cam and Jancia already went back up with Jory so he had Cam with him when he shot it. So glad for his help. Dave and I went up late on a Weds to help him skin it and take care of the meat. Now what do you do with all that meat???? SHARE!!!! Seriously we can't eat all that. And we always like to share..elk meat is good. Better than deer meat.

I love this pic, the future hunter Mr. Easton....

Moving Day From California To Arizona!

Time has come....moving day!! Is the Mom and Dad excited....YES! But it's bittersweet for Janica and Cam. They are excited to move but they have come to love California in some ways. The traffic is not their favorite or how many people live in California. But California has been good to them. A lot of growing, being on their own, making friends with in the church and with Cam's friends from school. They have found some pretty cool farmers markets, and some really cool places to eat. Shopping places. And they have showed us some neat beaches to go to. I have enjoyed them living in California. I have saw so much more of it. Going to Santa Monica Pier was so neat.. But we can always come back for a visit, but we won't have a place to stay with for free!!! That's Ok....But I'm excited to have my sweet little Janica home for awhile...missed having all my children in the same area. Now we are complete for a while. So Dave and I headed to Cali late Tues evening got into their place at 3am slept for about 3-4 hrs and started the oh so dreaded idea of packing up. Who really likes to move??? Not me...but when we ALL work together it comes together....This move is easy somewhat they have an elevator to use. Its very usefull. And these two kids did not have a lot to move. They were only in a 1 bedroom apt. They do have more of their stuff in Utah with Cam's parents. But when they really get settled with their own place they will head to Utah for the rest. But we loaded up that Weds and headed out in the afternoon. We did have the California traffic but really it could have been worse. We arrived in at 1am. Not bad of a drive.

It's always nice to have your 2yr old nephew help you unpack...
We put of 3 shelves in Jaren's room which he is not staying in at the moment and pretty much all their stuff that's in boxes fit on these shelve.

Breken's new living room toy!!! He likes to jump from couch to the ottoman...
This is Brad a friend of Cam and Janica's that went to school with Cam in California. He will be working at the same hospital to. Nice to have him help unload and put away. So now they live in Arizona. They have been busy with getting their new drivers license, car registered new banking. All that fun stuff to do. It's SWEET to have my Camron and Janica home....

Elk Hunt 2012!!

Well Dave did not get drawn out this year for the elk hunt!! Sad tears he has shed! But both Jory and Jaren did!! Happy dance for them. So elk hunt 2012 opened up  Friday Sept 14th! Two happy boys with their bows out huntin! Dave came home from China the 12th, had to work two days. His trip caught up with him by Friday so we did not make it up to camp till Saturday afternoon. But we went for a quad ride to check out some other spots for the boys to hunt. We are camping in a completely different spot then we do. New area. This is a natural watering hole some lady told Jory about who owns a ranch not to far from where we are camped. So we went to check it out.

I would like to see these boys get a elk...its been non-stop preparing for it. A lot of practicing with the bow in effort to get the BIG one in the wilderness!

So when the boys are out a hunting Brittney and I and the Mr. Easton enjoy camping. He loves to camp. He is such a good baby! He is over to Mimi's trailer visiting

Dave and I went on our own ride. Its fun to explore the area and see whats new and where the elk might me eating and drinking and taking in shelter...

Gotta love to see wagons out camping....There is this ranch like I said close by our camp, we saw several of these wagons by the road, so I had to stop and take in a picture. The boys have seen some big elk but no luck in getting one yet. Sooo hopefully I will be reporting one later in a post here....stay tuned...

Hiking In The Rain..

We like to hike Usury Mountain!! Even when it rains it don't stop us! It rained on us pretty good. But it felt so nice. Not cold. Well we were at the end of the hike and I saw this bench. Ha its new. Some one just put it there. Cool. A little rest before you finish the hike I suppose! BUT I'm mad at my camera. It's new, a Nikon coolpix. a waterproof one, and be dropped and take it. Well it was in my back pack in its case and my back pack was wet from the rain. So we stopped here at the bench to take pictures and after they were done this is what I got. They are all fogged up. Really?? It shouldn't happen.....So I am thinking of selling it and getting another one!   But it was a great morning for a rainy hike. The weather felt so wonderful!

Honoring 9-11

Jory Brittney and I (Dave was in china on his business trip)  had the opportunity to go down to Tempe Town Lake and see all the flags that were put up in honoring the 9-11 victims that lost their lives that day. Ohh what a site to see. You have a feeling that overcomes you when you see this many flags flying. And you know why they are all there. The question was asked a lot that day..Do you remember what you were doing and where you were when the two airplanes hit into the trade center in New York...Yes I do!! And then you listen to the other of their stories. Well mine was I just came home from the gym early in the morning with a good friend of mine Liz Montes, kids getting ready for school, some have left already and turned on the tv to watch the news and then you see all this commotion going on and you wonder what and where is this happening and is it for real! Well yes it was all true. And what you saw was the most awful tragedy that happened here on Americas soil. It's been 11 yrs and  I really remember those feelings. They don't go away. My heart just feels so sad when you think of the innocent people who lost their life's to terrorist. When were were looking at the flags they had the names of the people on them. Wow I had many tears in my eye. So many hero's that day. I am grateful for those that serve our country who go and protect me and where I live so that this will never happen again. My heart is overwhelmed with many emotions remembering this day.

This is a picture of Tempe Town Lake lit up. Its beautiful out at night there. The above picture is me trying out some different settings on the camera. It's new, not to sure about it. But we had a fun night remembering those that are gone and enjoying the entertainment that was provided while we visited.
