We live in day and age that we or some of us are spoiled with our cars. When we were in Florida we rented a Jeep Compass 4 cylinder car. But we just laughed when we went to try and roll down the window. We almost forgot how to do it. We live in a day where there is so much technology that we get used to buttons doing the work for us. Like the window. Ha I forgot how to use my hand and roll the window down. And the other thing we just laughed about was that David could not unlock the Jeep with is car remote. He had to do it manually. Even locking the doors We had to lock the door on the inside before closing it. WOW work! Like I said we are spoiled with our cars and I like it!

Florida

Dave and I went to Florida for a business trip. We left on Sunday April 12Th. It was Easter Sunday. I don't want to do that again. That was the first time I have ever been away from my kids on Easter. We have a tradition that we go to Rocky Point Mexico and go camping. We have done that for at least 12 yrs. It was really hard not to be there. But Dave and I went a little earlier so that we could spend some time with each other before he stared his meetings. We stayed at our time share that we have in Kissemee. We are about 10 minutes away from Disney World and all the other theme parks. So we saved some money while staying there. This was a very low key business trip vacation. We just went to the beach which was really fun. We picked a beach that we would like to visit. It was Melbourne Beach. It was a hour ride from where we were staying. Nice ride. Great day for the beach. We had one day that was rainy. So we decided to head for the outlet mall. So did every other person vacationing there!!! I have never seen so many women in the coach outlet store!!! MY MY.... We walked in and looked around at all the people and then walked back out. The purses there were not in my price range and I was fine with the one I have. When David went to his meetings I just went to the pool with my book, I'm in the last book of twilight series. Not done yet, but almost. And just enjoyed watching people and reading. Its fun to watch dad's on vacation that really don't watch the kids all to much and for some reason the mom is off doing her thing and the dad has to watch the kids at the pool . And the kids just don't listen to the dad at ALL. I watched a dad tell his kids to many times to get out of the pool. Hmm they did not do it. It was sooo funny to watch. It was a relaxing trip.

Mom

I have been really lazy in wanting to write about my mother. Not that I don't want to but life has been hectic with going to Florida and just making the time to write about it. Back in December I wrote of my dad and I feel that I owe my mother the same. Its been 21 yrs that she passed away. Jaylyn was only one, Jory three and Janica just turned six. She was in kindergarten. I was young when she passed away. And my mother was not old either. She was only 58. I feel bad that she really never got to know my kids but she will one day. I have some sad memories of my mother that really hurt at times, but I really try to keep the good memories close and not truly forget what she really wanted for her kids in life. I have to remember that as a child for her it was not the best. But I wanted to put more pic's of her but I'm truly dumb as to scanning and making them work to put on here. So all I have is just one. My mother really taught me to be a honest person to respect other people. She gave me good morals to live by. As a teenager I remember one summer she took us to this watermelon farm late late at night and she has us go and pick watermelons. It really was stealing, BUT we took them home and gave them to people that had less. We stole but shared. But I was with my mother. She always thought of other people who had less then us and wanted to help them out. As a child she would go and get crabs at the store and would sit all together and crack open crabs and eat. That was a really big treat. She loved to fish and would take us often late at night and do night fishing. She would fish for carp. Only our family was the only one to eat carp. They say that fish is a trash fish, but hey my mom new how to clean and gut those fish and cook up a fish fry. My mother grew up in the south. New Orleans. She cooked up some great chicken gumbo. Ham hocks and Lima bean. Lima beans are not my favorite. And my least of all least she would cook was okra and rice. YUCK! Slimy stuff. My mother struggled for all of my child hood and adult hood with mental illness. She came to visit me with a one way ticket not knowing when she would return back to Utah. She was with me for 3 days and passed away. I truly believe she knew her time was short. One night we talked about her family. Things that I had never known. I found out that my grandmother her mother spoke french. Wow I took a french class when I was in the 9Th grade. My grandmother was French Indian. I have done my mothers temple work and at times I have felt her presence near me. I am grateful she watches over her family.

The Climb

This song is called "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. I just love this song. Every time I hear it it just brings tears to my eyes. I don't know why but it has so much meaning to it. Well it does to me. Every day we have mountains to climb, and at times its difficult. We put self doubt in us and think we can't achieve it. But we are so fortunate we have some one to take our problems to. I forget that in my everyday tasks. Heavenly Father wants us to achieve what we desire and not lose faith in him or ourselves. I always forget that I can take it to him. He can calm my fears and make me stronger. And also this songs reminds me of my children as they grow in their individual lives of who they want to be and of the struggles they face. And how I admire what they have become and always strive for. Always trying to climb that mountain and never giving up!

I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
You'll never reach it,
Every step I'm taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing,
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm gonna to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah)

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb (yeah yeah ea ea)

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It's all about
It's all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith

Whoa a oh oh

Grandpa was sick!

In March Dave's dad became ill and had emergency surgery and had two feet of his intestines taken out. He has been having some problems in the past with this but hopefully with the surgery it will be all better. This picture was taken the night before we left. He was feeling better even though he had that cute tube down his nose going to his stomach. He was one sick puppy there for awhile. But is doing so much better.

We went to dinner at Maddox's the family's favorite place to eat with Dave's sisters and the cousins and their kids. This is Brandi with her little boy Ryker. And her niece Aubri. It's so funny to see the cousins have kids of their own. Brandi and Jancia are a yr apart. They played so much with each other when they were little.

This is Kris with two of his kids Shade, and Kinsley and one of Kris's friend who came to eat with us. Kris and Janica are the same age.

This is Dave's sister Danene and her husband Mark. The Mom and Dad AND Grandma and Pa to all these kids. This is Cheri with her boy Carsen. Jaylyn and Cheri are the same age.

I took this picture of Cheri and her daughter Aubri because this was the first time I saw her. She was born in June of last yr. And my kids have not seen her either. Jaylyn was wanting to see what she looked like. Its sad when you have to be a grown up and you don't get to travel to Ut with your parents like you used to when you were a kid and get to play with all your cousins!! Jaylyn thinks grown up life is not all that fun sometimes. But Cheri is due with another baby in July. And Brandi her sister is due with twins in the fall.

And these cute kids are Dana'a kids. David's younger sister. Shah, Angie, Jacob. It was St. Patricks day when I took this picture. Its fun to be together with the family even though it was not the best of terms with Grandpa sick, but we all got to visit and catch up with every one.

So it was just little us Jay and Jacob, Jory and his friend Brittney, and oh we can not forget Miss Tawni! Ha. It was a fun day to watch conference and then eat out side for dinner. It was a very nice relaxing day.

Little of Spring Cleaning

Who wants to clean out their closet's??? Not me! Every time I get into this closet I just say to my self gosh I need to organize this and clean up. Well that day finally came. Spring just brings on the feeling that things have to be clean. Well maybe not for every one but once in awhile for me. So this is what I did on Monday. I threw away 3 bags of garbage. So embarrassing I might say. And I found stuff that I could have put out for my yard sale I had on Saturday. Oh well.....

This was the other nightmare. All my loose pictures that I keep saying that hahahaha I'm going to scrapbook! Gee I have bought the stuff to organize it with and to start to scrapbook but it has not happened. And I think I was really kidding myself that I was going to do it. Well ok maybe I could but I believe I will just get photo albums and start putting them in that way. Sounds less stressful unless Jancia will come to my house and she can help me scrap book! She has become quite the scrapper girl.
