Uncle Dan's 50th Birthday

David's brother Daniel went to Ut to celebrate his 50th Birthday. So Dave and I flew up stayed over night and went home. Quick trip. But it was fun to have the family together. My kids could not go but Dave's siblings were all together.

This was a hard group to work with, trying to get everyone to smile. Worse then kids... lol
But we did our best!

We had Daniels birthday party at Grandma and Grandpa Wright's club house.

While we were in Ut celebrating Dave's brother Daniel his 50th birthday, My brother David and I and my David confusing...I have a twin brother David and a husband David....LOL well we went up to Smithfield to visit my dad's grave. It was his birthday as well. So we went to his grave visited and then visited all of our other family members that have past away. Like my great great grandfather and so many others that are gone. I find it so neat to look at their head stones and think of them and wonder what they must have been like. Some were born in the late 1800's. I just find it fascinating. Then we went and saw my sister at her work for a little bit. I love the tulips that were blooming then. Ha by May in Az were are done with those blooming. Utah has had some harsh weather this yr. It does not know what season to be in....LOL

Charleston South Carolina

David and I and Jory went to South Carolina for business. I was soo excited to go because I have never been there. Oh the history in the south just really excites me. But David had already been gone the first part of the week in Boston and other places that we never got to sight see together. Jory and I flew out together and did our own thing the first night. But really David was tied up in meetings the whole time we were in SC so I got to do the sight seeing with out him. I had a blast and would really like to go back with him and see more. Its a beautiful place to visit.

Jory and I went to eat at this place. It was a really cute setting and good food to eat.

Ha ha Jory being funny!

Just doing some relaxing....

Some of the wives we went and took a carriage ride and saw parts of the town. It was just so fun to see the homes that have been there for a long time. Bill Murry has a home in SC.

This horse is so big. But there was another Clydesdale inside on a rest and his name was George. He was HUGE!! I just think these Clydesdale's are beautiful.

Parts of the Charleston while on our walk with the wives.

Ok so while the men went and played golf on Saturday a group of people went on a excursion to a plantation. It was called the Boone Plantation. The difference between a plantation and a farm is that a plantation consists of 100 acres or more. A farm is less. I had a great time here. This is the slaves home made out of brick. Its not big, but it I'm sure in the summer hot months it was some what cool, but they did have a fireplace in side to keep them warm in the winter time.

Another look at the slaves homes.

This was my most favorite part of being at the Boone plantation. This is a women who spoke to us about her generations of family who spent time on plantations. She spoke of the language that her great great grandmother spoke and she read some poems in that language. She said that it was not her given language but she had to learn it so that she could communicate with her grandmother. It was the language that was brought over from Africa when the they brought them there to be slaves. She also talked of the children that worked in the fields as young as age 5. By the age of 18 their body's were done and could no longer work. Also it was not all cotton or tobacco that they grew, it was rice that was really the big thing to grow there. I just so loved hearing of her story.

This is the avenue of oak trees leading up to the Boone home

I found out after I took this picture that I was not suppose to take it. Oh well....but this room is soo beautiful. The table and chairs come from Paris. It came over in the 17oo's

This is the Boone Hall Plantation home. Said to be the most-photographed because of the avenue of oaks. Leading to the house. The land was granted to Maj. John Boone in the 1680's and it became a cotton and brick manufacturing plantation.

On our way to a home that was a Confederate home. After the civil war, two sisters mortgaged their house to buy the Carolina Hotel. They called it the "Home for the mothers, widows, and daughters of the Confederate soldiers.

I can just imagined what it was like back then. The grounds are so beautiful

This was our group having drinks before dinner

The Pineapple Legend...Walking around Charleston you'll see carved pineapples at the entrances of some homes. Since colonial days, the pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality. Legend has it that the sea captions sailing the Caribbean came home with exotic fruits. A caption would spear a pineapple on his fence post to let friends know he was home safely and to please visit. He would then serve food and drink and regale visitors with the high seas.

Our Caribbean Vacation!

What can I say about this trip!! It was the most fabulous, fantastic, beautiful trip we have ever been on. 10 day southern Caribbean cruise!! And I would do this same trip again in a heart beat!! We planned this trip back in Oct. And the anticipation of it coming month after month was sooo exciting. We had some wonderful friends we went with. Laci and Cheryl. We had sooo much fun being with them. I hope in return they had fun with us, and that we can plan more vacations with each other again. I think we did well. We flew in to San Juan a few days before our trip so that we could enjoy what San Juan was all about. That is where the boat sailed from. I really want to go back to San Juan and do more site seeing. We had fun there. Seeing the San Christabel Fort was soo awesome. Learned a lot about history. It was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had!!!! It was really fun to spend that many days with David and we did not kill each other. We had a wonderful time with each other.

This is out of our balcony of our hotel we stayed on in San Juan

This was our first day in San Juan. We had a taxi driver drop us off and we found this place to go and eat lunch. It was so exciting

This is what we had for lunch. I really don't remember what it was but it was good.
